At the core of the entire Syroco platform, a digital twin is a virtual representation of a real-world ship, powered by artificial intelligence, data and IoT.  

The digital twin represents the physics and data-driven behaviour of the ship. It sails in parallel with the actual ship, tracking actual and expected performance.

AI-BASED WEATHER ROUTING

Artificial intelligence is used to select the most optimised routes: genetic algorithms run virtually the digital twin on 100,000+ variations of routes, using most accurate weather observation and forecast data based on satellite measurements. The algorithms use multi-objectives such as arrival time, fuel consumption and emissions and allow for specific operating constraints.

INTUITIVE ON-BOARD INTERFACE

Used by the crew, the user interface provides exact routing details and voyage optimisation parameters that are computed in real-time by the digital twin. In addition to accurate fuel savings, detailed weather information for the entire voyage is also displayed, helping the crew understand the route selection and analyse the impact of any decision on fuel consumption and emissions.
